During the summer staying fit is not really talked about, the most brought up are plans with friends and the best 5 malls. Why aren’t there any top 5 workouts? Well I’m not here to explain which workout is the best, but I’m going to give advice on some easy workouts at home you can do this summer.
The first way to stay active is swimming. During the summer swimming is the #1 thing people do to keep cool, but swimming is actually a workout. Swimming improves full body high burning calories. Since water is denser than air when swimming against it, the water can help improve on building muscle and strength.
The second workout/activity is going for a hike. Whether it’s a walking hike or jogging hike, getting outside in the fresh summer air can always change a bad mood to better. Hikes are an easy way to stay fit by impacting the lower body, and core, which burns 50% more calories than walking on regular flat surfaces.
Hikes are a free way to find new things and help explore outside of ur comfort zone. Hikes are a top 5 when reducing stress, it lowers anxiety and are 100% beneficial in improving your mood. When walking or running you burning roughly 233 calories per every 30 minutes. Just being elevated and resistant so taking a hike won’t be that bad even if it’s just walking up a hill and back home.
Another activity to help keep fit is sports and dancing. Dancing is the way of keeping energy up. Whether it goes for 10 minutes up to an hour, dancing can help by Cardio and keeping your body moving. Dancing is a great way to stay fit also for free. Maybe even trying a zumba or yoga class. Flexibility is key when wanting to stay fit.
Playing sports is also one of the best ways to keep yourself fit whether that’s going to a gym or working out at home. Being with team members can help you even more stay focused on building your body and friends can push you into better standards coming in with. When having a coach, workouts can be way easier when it’s someone else telling you what to do. Sports can focus on any part of the muscle or body part you would like to build and is highly effective.
Yet when keeping yourself fit during the summer you would also want to make sure that you’re drinking Enough water to keep up with your body. Overheating is the number one cause of death during summer time for kids and teenagers when they forget to drink water. This is why it is just as effective as going to a gym or doing hardcore exercises. I wanted to ask people at my school what they felt about things you can do while having fun and staying fit over the summer.
When asked some ways she stays fit over the summer Makayla Anderson said, “ I like to walk my dog, get outside, and play Frisbee and just being the outdoors cause that’s what causes me to do another thing outside “
Taylor Miller responded, “If I’m not home I usually do dance which keeps me active during the summer and being outside with my friends which probably involves walking somewhere is what keeps me active during the summer.”
So staying fit while having fun consists of just being outside and finding something to do. Hopefully this article will make you come to mind about things you can do over the summer and not just have to buy equipment when staying fit can be easy and free.
